2nd graders twittering in Maine

I can see advantages and disadvantages to these second graders twittering. It is kind of cool, how they use twitter has a new modern way of pen paling. And it gets then familiar with typing and how to use the internet appropriately. Like the article said, it makes them have to spell check their entries after every use too, so thats a good learning tool. A disadvantage is that these kids could start becoming addicted to the internet at an earlier age, wanting to go on twitter and use it. Wanting to see who else is on twitter, and sometimes celebrities don't always put appropriate stuff on their twitter account.. But overall I think it is a very interesting learning tool, and a fun way for kids to communicate with the other class.
